Who We Are

Miji Africa is a pioneering living lab that supports the innovation ecosystem by co-creating development solutions with low-income, underserved and marginalized communities to promote equitable and inclusive livelihood transformation. In Miji Africa, we are committed to steering innovation solutions through pragmatic, holistic and climate-conscious approaches to mitigate urban poverty, improve livelihoods, and increase community resilience in Urban Africa.

In the journey of leaving no one behind, we recognize that low–income and under-served communities, such as informal settlements, which host the majority of Africa’s urban population, must be at the heart of innovation implementation and scaling and are key in mitigating climate change.

Christer is a Development Strategist and Innovation Researcher passionate about co-creating inclusive transformations.

She has worked with marginalized communities across Africa for over 7 years, applying human-centred approaches to mediate challenges in low-income settlements and has an excellent conceptualization of urban system complexities.

Peris Njoroge

Environmental Scientist and policy expert

About Peris

Peris Njoroge has over 7 years of experience as an environmentalist. She is an expert in environmental policy, climate change, and adaptation, with experience across African countries.

She brings diverse skills in deriving and implementing inclusive and gender-responsive policies and strategies for developing sustainable communities and conducting place-based research with societal impact.

Data Analyst

About Wyckliff

Wyckliff is a data scientist with over ten years of experience developing and managing research. He has hands-on experience applying Machine Learning/Statistical algorithms to real-world problems: Gradient Boosted Tress, Clustering, Generalized Linear Models, Simulation Models and Gaussian Mixture Models.

With vast international experience in the private and public sectors and INGOs, he brings a comprehensive understanding of the complex difficulties that communities across the continent confront.
